Back into old buying habits, that is. I just ordered a new Guild Starfire 111 and a really neat Guild Savoy. Guild stopped making electrics 6 or so years ago. They have re-introduced 8 guitars, including these two "goodies".

They're about $1100.00 apiece (Imports, probably made in the Samick factory in Korea-the factory that makes the import lines for Gretsch, PRS, Epiphone and others).

Original, but updated tooling is used. The Starfire is almost identical to my dear old 66. I use an American Savoy 150 (used it on the video I posted here last year)...a 2001, I think. It has a mounted single humbucker and drilled holes for knobs. The new one uses a really neat sliding (Floater) non-invasive pick-up and knobs mounted in the pick guard...really classic looking.

After the partial liquidation of my collection, this makes 119 the number.

Hopefully, I'll come to my senses and STOP!

Check-out the new line. The import Guilds are top notch! And, in case you haven't guessed it, Guild is my favorite brand.

Don't come to your senses wink You only live once and these imports aren't extravagantly expensive guitars but the quality for the money is quite amazing. Computer controlled manufacturing really provides an awesome bang for the buck by churning out very playable instruments.

I have quite a few cheap Korean guitars that I really like to play.
